Alliance for Development International (AFDINT) is a non-for-profit organization in Uganda was registered in 2006. It has been in operation 11 years with an objective of working with vulnerable groups. Its main objectives focus on environmental restoration, water restoration action plans and other socio economic effects that derails development in refugee and host communities.
One of the critical functions of AFDINT is to to establish channels through which Economic Empowerment, Governance, Accountability and Environmental Social Protection reach vulnerable and marginalized communities with a mandate to inspire and promote among refugees the spirit of unity and national consciousness, to provide a unified and integrated system through which they may communicate and coordinate their ideas and activities, encourage them to consolidate their roles in Socio – Economic Transformation.
Through the AU Funding Alliance was enabled to work with women and youths in Eastern Uganda supporting them in Agricultural livelihoods that could increase their household incomes and enhanced skilling in different agricultural enterprises as crop production, livestock production and poultry production but also campaigning on fruit tree growing for environmental restoration, food security, nutrition and income generation at household level.
