AFDINT possesses a comparative advantage in key areas which has made us be well positioned to achieve our objectives.

• Demonstrated ability and experience to work among communities; Afdint was among the pioneer NGOs to provide HIV services in the market communities of Uganda. Having successfully implemented projects under Agriculture, Health & Environment, and Women Empowerment Afdint has the capacity to implement many projects that serves to improve the livelihood of people in different.

• Use of Community Structures: In line with the national SGBV prevention and response  programmatic focus, we engage leaders in beneficiary communities by using the existing community structures from the District, Municipal, Parish up to the Village levels. This approach ensures sustainability of the efforts as community structures will outlive the funded program . Afdint further builds the capacity of the community leaders to enable them implement projects.

• Educative and Communicative Information on various health issues: Afdint has appropriately disseminated educative, information and communication materials that captivate health messages to create awareness of health issues that affect the communities, schools and work places.

• Focus Group Model: We use inspirational groups which focus on disseminating information  in hard to reach areas that is vital for the well being of various communities through promoting behavior change and mobilize them for service .This model has proven to be the best tool to achieve our objectives.

• Volunteers for cost effectiveness and reach: Afdint uses its volunteers in its community led approach to project implementation. This approach has been proven not only to be a very cost effective way of implementing projects but also fosters community ownership and therefore enhances sustainability.

• Good reporting capacity: Afdint has a good track record in providing program accountability to the donors / development partners in terms of reporting. The organization receives clean deal of wealth from its funders.

• Financial stewardship: Afdint has demonstrated capacity to manage large donor funded projects. The organization has sound and transparent financial systems that mitigate risk to financial . Audited books of accounts for all the years, since inception are in line with our open transparency policy.
